Fair Oaks Ranch sits in between The Dominion and Boerne along Interstate 10. Initially formed in 1988 to preserve the region from the encroaching big city, Fair Oaks Ranch has maintained its country feel while still providing residents easy access to shopping at areas such as The Rim and La Cantera plus convenient access to UTSA and major employers like NuStar Energy, Valero, and USAA.

Like several of the other areas mentioned, Fair Oaks is its own small city with a post office, police and fire department, and city council. Neighborhoods are characterized by large lots, spacious three and four-bedroom homes and plenty of green space. Deer and other wildlife roam the area freely.

The unpretentious Fair Oaks Country Club offers social, tennis, and golf memberships at reasonable fees plus a popular dining room with takeout service and a wide selection of summer camps.

The city is zoned to highly rated Boerne Independent School District and has a robust network of kids sports leagues and extracurricular activities, both major draws for families.
